Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a faculty position in Translational Medicine. This is a strategic recruitment aimed at building on world-leading expertise in regulatory affairs and regulatory science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in translational medicine, with a focus on regulatory affairs and regulatory science.
  • Develop and teach courses in regulatory affairs and regulatory science.
  • Supervise graduate students and contribute to the development of the School of Population and Public Health.
  • Engage with academic stakeholders and non-academic stakeholders in the life sciences sector, including industry, scientists, health systems, and government.
  • Participate in the affairs of the School and the University, and contribute to the development of the Faculty of Medicine.
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant discipline, including health economics, economics, political science, health services and systems, law, epidemiology, clinical research methodology, or health policy.
  • Experience in leading a recognized program of sustained and productive scholarly activity in regulatory affairs and regulatory science.
  • Ability to direct graduate students and contribute to the development of the School of Population and Public Health.
  • Experience in developing inclusive partnerships that engage Indigenous peoples, vulnerable populations, and equity-seeking groups.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching and developing courses in regulatory affairs and regulatory science.
  • Experience in supervising graduate students and contributing to the development of the School of Population and Public Health.
  • Experience in engaging with academic stakeholders and non-academic stakeholders in the life sciences sector.
