Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read blueprints to determine work requirements and ensure accurate execution of tasks.
  • Assisting Tradespersons: Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, building roofs, and demolishing buildings as directed by tradespersons and supervisors.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Clean and pile salvaged materials, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Tool and Equipment Management: Move tools, equipment, and other materials as needed to support construction activities.
  • Hardware Installation: Install door, window, and other hardware as required.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read blueprints and drawings to understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Foundation and Structural Work: Assist in building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems.
  • Cement and Material Handling: Shovel cement and other materials into cement mixers, spread concrete and asphalt on road surfaces using shovels, rakes, and hand tampers.
  • Support and Repair: Construct and repair wood or metal supports and structures as needed.Working Conditions
    • Work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying weather conditions.
    • May be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, or with hazardous materials.
    Requirements
    • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
    • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
    • Language: English language proficiency required.
