This is a unique opportunity to join the Squamish Nation as a Cultural Advisor, working closely with the Language and Cultural Affairs Department. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide cultural advice and guidance to community members, external agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement cultural programs, events, and initiatives that promote the Squamish Nation's heritage and traditions.
  • Collaborate with the Language and Cultural Affairs Department to ensure cultural sensitivity and accuracy in all departmental activities.
  • Act as a liaison between the Squamish Nation and external agencies, providing cultural expertise and support as needed.
  • Support the development of cultural policies and procedures that align with the Squamish Nation's values and traditions.
  • Provide training and education to staff and community members on cultural protocols and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of cultural programs and services that meet the needs of the Squamish Nation community.

What You Bring

  • A strong understanding of the Squamish Nation's heritage, culture, traditions, and language.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in cultural programming, event planning, and community engagement.
