In recent years, we have successfully launched a wide array of modern fresh food delis across Ireland, with plans to expand further in the upcoming year, introducing additional Dunnes Stores Market Delis nationwide. Our Market Deli brand is designed to provide a broader selection of products, ensuring exceptional value and superior customer service.

We are in search of skilled fresh food managers to oversee our fresh food counters. Our ideal candidates possess profound product knowledge, deliver exemplary customer service, and have a genuine passion for fresh food and retail. The primary responsibility of the fresh food manager is to ensure the fresh food counter operates smoothly, delivering outstanding customer care and maintaining high operational standards to optimize sales and profitability while controlling costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Store Management to uphold the highest standards of food preparation, merchandising, and customer service.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team in alignment with the Brand's objectives, delivering the agreed business strategy and customer service program.
  • Implement and monitor the rigorous HACCP program within our fresh food counters, ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality regulations, while establishing an effective cleaning schedule.
  • Manage daily product orders with approved suppliers in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Track and address any variations in departmental costs on a weekly basis.
  • Achieve the budgeted KPI targets for the department and provide forecasts as needed.
  • Enhance sales by analyzing sales data, understanding department trading patterns, and anticipating customer needs.
  • Ensure products are prepared according to established procedures.
  • Train and implement departmental brand standards.
  • Coach your team to be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sales, product availability, stock control, merchandising, pricing, inventory, hygiene, and customer service.
  • Ensure all process and business changes are executed timely and in accordance with business requirements.
  • Adhere to specifications, standards, and procedures while at work, including all relevant safety and legal policies.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Continuously seek innovative ideas from within and outside the business.
  • Provide constructive feedback to senior management regarding performance, customer service developments, and operational challenges.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a fresh food or fast-paced retail environment is preferred.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to follow established recipe cards and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in HACCP with a solid understanding of Food Safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Flexible and capable of working both as part of a team and independently.
  • Passionate about food production and presentation.
  • Commercially minded with appropriate product knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective merchandising skills.
  • Proficient in people management.
