Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Environmental Professional to join our team in Fredericton. As a key member of our environmental services group, you will be responsible for performing environmental site assessments, coordinating field activities, and interacting with clients and regulatory agencies.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct Phase I to Phase III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) to identify potential environmental hazards and risks.
- Coordinate and conduct field activities, including sampling of groundwater, soil, soil vapour, sediment, and/or surface water.
- Perform oversight of excavation and drilling activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement and enforce health and safety plans on construction sites to protect employees and the public.
- Supervise the activities of site personnel and subcontractors to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
- Interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to provide technical expertise and support.
- Coordinate project tasks, implement field work, and report to project team members.
- Assist with report writing and proposal development for submission to provincial and federal regulatory authorities.
- Support Project Managers on various environmental and industrial projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Disciplines, or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or a related field.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience working on federal properties and/or knowledge of the FCSAP process.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Bilingual capabilities considered an asset.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle.
- Autonomous, methodical, responsible, resourceful, and punctual individual.
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze and synthesize information.
- Available for variable hours and willing to travel to client sites throughout the province or outside the province, as needed.
