About the Role

iA Financial Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Actuarial Co-op Student to join their team for an 8-month term. As an Actuarial Co-op Student, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, gain technical skills, and develop your expertise in actuarial science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Corporate Actuarial and/or Pricing & Data Analytics team(s) by providing technical support and gaining exposure to various projects.
  • Handle financial reporting tasks, including month-end and quarter-end valuations.
  • Assist with special projects, such as profitability studies and data analysis.
  • Support actuarial functions, including designing and completing surveys, assembling reports, and assisting analysts/advisors.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in actuarial science.
  • Proficient in manipulating large data sets, including SQL, and skilled in working with Excel, Access, Python, and R software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available full-time for 8 months, starting September 2024.
