Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & HRIS Specialist to join our team at Quails' Gate Winery. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of payroll processing and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related data.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports and statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Resolve any payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
  • Internal Customer Service to Team on all payroll related matters
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end reports, including T4s and other tax-related documents.
  • Assist with full cycle accounting, including preparation of regular source deductions and remittances.
  • Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to payroll processes and systems.
  • Creation and distribution of applicable reports and analytics
  • In partnership with HR team, you will coordinate and manage the HR & Payroll software program, Push Operations, ensuring all employee information is up-to-date and the system is functioning optimally.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate and efficient processing of new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
  • Provide training and support to employees and managers on the use of Push Operations software.
  • Create training documents and advise and processes/policies

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Education in Business Administration and/or Accounting
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role
  • Experience in similar industry an asset
  • Experience with Push Operation an asset
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using HR & Payroll software programs, with specific experience in Push Operations highly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
