Position Overview:

In the role of a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will collaborate with a diverse team to deliver essential personal care and support services to patients requiring either temporary assistance or ongoing care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with daily living activities and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Working closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to implement care plans.
  • Observing and documenting changes in patients' health and emotional states.
  • Facilitating organized activities that promote patient engagement and wellbeing.
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all individuals in care.

You will play a crucial role in fostering effective communication among patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a Health Care Aide Certificate obtained within 18 months of employment and maintain active status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Nursing students who have completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum in an approved Alberta nursing program may also be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential for both independent and collaborative work.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience or training in supportive pathways, palliative care, NVCI, and foot care will be advantageous.
