About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Product Merchandiser to join our team at S&K Wipers. As a Product Merchandiser, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and terms, and overseeing the distribution of merchandise to our outlets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of merchandise.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock levels to meet customer demand and minimize stockouts.
  • Negotiation and Contracting: Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements with suppliers to ensure the best possible deals.
  • Merchandise Distribution: Oversee the distribution of merchandise to our outlets, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to our customers, responding to their needs and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to determine the requirements of our establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Product Selection: Select and purchase merchandise for resale, ensuring that it meets our quality and pricing standards.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise the work of other buyers, providing guidance and support to ensure that they meet their responsibilities.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities, and make recommendations to improve our merchandise offerings.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Wholesale establishment/store.
  • Specialization/Experience: Buying, Merchandise Needs Analysis, Market Analysis, Product Selection, Negotiation, Product Development.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, attention to detail, standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, flexibility, judgement, organized, team player, analytical.
