Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor departmental performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Plan and organize daily operations, including scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods.
- Plan for changes to schedules and policies, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and prepared.
- Prepare reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Supervise a team of 3-4 staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties.
- Manage finances or budget, ensuring that all expenses are accounted for and that the department is operating within budget.
- Arrange for shipping documentation and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and that shipments are delivered on time.
- Ensure transport compliance with regulations, including health and safety and environmental regulations.
- Negotiate for services and preferential rates with suppliers and partners.
- Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods, ensuring that all shipments are delivered on time and in good condition.
- Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue, ensuring that the department is operating within budget.
- Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring that all goods are stored and tracked correctly.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, providing regular reports to senior management.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a transportation or logistics role.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- 40 hours per week.
- Permanent position.
- English language required.
