Job Title: Senior Lifeguard/Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lifeguard/Instructor to join our team at the Don Stewart Aquatic Centre. As a key member of our aquatics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our patrons, while also delivering high-quality swimming lessons and programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and monitor swimming programs to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
  • Deliver swimming lessons and programs to clients of all ages and skill levels.
  • Perform lifeguarding duties, including rescues and first aid as required.
  • Maintain the facility to ensure the swimming pool is safe and clean.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve our goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma and certification in Aquatic Emergency Care (Standard First Aid & CPR C).
  • National Lifeguard Certification – Pool.
  • Swim Instructor / Examiner certification.
  • WHMIS training and emergency procedures training.
  • Lifesaving Instructor / Examiner certification.
  • Fitness Certification / Aqua-fitness Certification would be considered an asset.
Working Conditions:

The Senior Lifeguard/Instructor will work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of physical activity required. The incumbent must be able to lift, carry and manage equipment and supplies, and may be required to practice lifesaving techniques. The Senior Lifeguard/Instructor will also be exposed to various chemicals, including chlorine.
