About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Radiation Technologist II to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at the South Health Campus. As a Medical Radiation Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review
  • Interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment
  • Work all shifts and on-call, as assigned

Requirements:

  • Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Venipuncture certification
  • Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork
  • Perception, initiative, good judgement and concern for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations
  • Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians
  • Practices effective radiation protection, infection control and safety techniques as applicable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CT experience
  • Full CTIC Certificate with completed practicum
  • ACMDTT Enhanced Practice Authorization in Medication Administration
  • Experience with Epic/Connect Care
