Job SummaryThis role requires a Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation with three years of professional experience, as well as in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, with a focus on Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS). The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, working papers, and reports for the university and its related entities.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare financial reports and statements for the university and its consolidated entities
- Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with emphasis on Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS)
- Research, analyze, and implement the adoption of new accounting standards, considering financial impacts and presentation in financial statements
- Develop new accounting policies and procedures as required
- Support the campus community by providing expert-level knowledge on accounting practice and procedure questions and account reconciliation guidance
- Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation with three years of professional experience
- In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, with a focus on Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS)
- Demonstrated computer literacy and experience in a large, diverse, and sophisticated accounting environment
- Excellent organizational skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Superior verbal and written communication skills to varied audiences
- Experience with Banner Finance and FAST Finance
- Working knowledge of SQL
