Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Finance team at CB Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for month end, quarter end, and year end closures, as well as overseeing, mentoring, and supervising the work of Accounting Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review financial statements for multiple entities
  • Manage monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables
  • Coordinate with finance groups on annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, cost modeling, and financial reporting and analysis
  • Ensure all reports and budgets are prepared in accordance with current and relevant accounting principles
  • Prepare working papers for year end audits and corporate tax filings
  • Prepare complex consolidated financials
  • Supervise 2 Accounting Assistants with their day-to-day operations
  • Develop and maintain control documents
  • Communicate with all levels of management
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years progressive accounting experience, ideally from big 4 or 6 public practice or in public practice
  • Degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, or related field. A CPA designation is preferred
  • Experience as a Financial Analyst will be considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong technical skills, able to use Dashboards and/or Power BI are considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
