Recreation Facilitator

The Recreation Facilitator plays a crucial role in designing and executing engaging activity programs aimed at improving the social, mental, emotional, and physical health of residents. This position involves evaluating residents' needs, contributing to team discussions, and enhancing the overall quality of life for individuals in care. The Recreation Facilitator is dedicated to upholding the organization's vision, mission, and core values.

Service Area: Recreation
Work Schedule: 1.0 FTE – full-time - days/evenings
Compensation: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation or a related field
  • Current Food Handling Certificate
  • Experience working in long-term care or with individuals with disabilities
  • Proficiency in personal computer applications within a Windows environment
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively
  • Effective group facilitation abilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership qualities
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety regulations
  • Familiarity with W.H.M.I.S. program

This position requires bilingual capabilities (French/English). All personnel are appointed for the facility.
