Job Summary

The Senior Youth & Family Counsellor is a key member of the Wood's Homes team, responsible for providing high-quality services to children, youth, and families in a residential setting. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional care and meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety Management System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a structured setting that fosters personal and social development for each client.
  • Participate in supervisory meetings, team meetings, and training sessions to ensure effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide therapeutic support to children, youth, and families, including attendance at case conferences, intervention strategies, and case management.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy living environment, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Assist with daily tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation of clients.
  • Complete required health and safety training and report any hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Develop and implement a therapeutic milieu that promotes personal and social growth for each client.
  • Provide leadership to program staff and contribute to the operationalization of the Health & Safety Management System.

Requirements

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing, or related field.
  • Four years of experience working with children, youth, and families in a residential setting.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Experience working with young people preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
