Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Officer to join our team in a dynamic and supportive work environment. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries from the public, and ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to inquiries from the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Patrol client properties by foot to prevent unauthorized entry and politely direct disruptive individuals to leave the premises.
  • Provide specialized security services and sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and community members.
  • Follow and enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Respond to and report irregularities, security breaches, hazards, and emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Utilize radios, handheld devices, and computer applications to communicate site activity and coordinate with colleagues and management.
  • Write clear and comprehensive reports, including daily activity reports and incident reports, to document site activity and provide valuable insights.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including report writing and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, professional demeanor, and deportment to provide exceptional service to clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to solve problems, make decisions, and respond to emergencies under pressure, while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
  • Discretion when handling confidential and private information, including client data and security protocols.
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time, with the ability to lift and move objects as needed.
  • Ability to pass a security clearance and obtain a security license, as required by law.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and of legal age, with a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

How to Qualify:

  • Provide exceptional customer service with a smile, and a commitment to providing high-quality service to clients and colleagues.
  • Be comfortable standing for long periods of time, and able to lift and move objects as needed.
  • Hold a valid First Aid/CPR certification, or be willing to obtain one prior to getting hired.
  • Be eligible to work in Canada, with a valid work permit or citizenship.
  • Have prior experience working in security, with a strong understanding of security protocols and procedures.

Education and Certification:

  • High School Diploma/GED, with a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, with a focus on providing exceptional care and support to clients and colleagues.
