About the Role

Groundwork Engineering Limited is seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and producing functional, preliminary, and detailed design drawings for a wide variety of geotechnical, servicing, and site development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and produce detailed engineering drawings, including plan, profile, and section drawings.
  • Prepare cost estimates, quantities, and tender packages.
  • Prepare necessary reports, including calculations.
  • Assist Contract Administration staff with preparation of tender documents, site visits, deficiency review, and security releases.
  • Complete construction review, inspection, and surveying.
  • Responsible for organized note keeping/file management, including submittal of data to required parties.
  • Complete sampling and investigation of wastewater and stormwater.
  • Complete topographic surveying by running Total Station, GPS data equipment, as well as the downloading of electronic files.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of post-secondary program in Civil Engineering Technician/Technology, eligible for CET Designation.
  • Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience working as part of a project team in a consulting environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience in civil construction is considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on a number of projects concurrently.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors.
  • Possesses a valid Ontario driver's license with access to a vehicle.
