Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper to join our team at Chevron Town Pantry. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements, providing accurate and timely financial information to management.
  • Post journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare trial balance of books, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
  • College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Proficiency in computerized bookkeeping systems and software, with ability to learn new systems and technologies.
