Position OverviewUnder the general oversight of the Manager of Health Services in Mental Health, and while upholding the Mission, Values, and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) delivers professional psychiatric and emergency nursing services to patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health requirements. Responsibilities encompass independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, a leadership role within the healthcare team, and coordination of patient care and discharge processes.
Experience- Recent experience in Psychiatric and/or Emergency Nursing is essential.
- This position will involve work in the Emergency Mental Health pod and Inpatient Mental Health units, as well as non-monitored areas of the Emergency department.
- NOTE: Successful completion of the WRHA Emergency Level 1A and WRHA Mental Health Education will be required during orientation.
- CRNM registration is mandatory.
- Active involvement in professional associations, such as the Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), is preferred.
NOTE: CURRENT BLS CERTIFICATION AT THE HEALTH CARE PROVIDER LEVEL IS REQUIRED.
Qualifications and Skills- Understanding of the scope of practice as outlined in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
