Operations Manager

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, health and safety, grounds and gardens, and building fabric services.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a team of operational staff, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations, ISO 9001 and 14001 standards, and BOMA platinum requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet the demands of service provision, ongoing improvement, and adaptation to changing processes and environments.
- Exercise strong financial and commercial controls in the management of expenditure and income within agreed budgets.
- Lead operational managers and staff effectively, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Assist in the production and management of operational and capital budgets, with regular monitoring of actual performance variances.
- Monitor and deliver Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results monthly, applying strategies for continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement energy and environmental management and conservation strategies and policies.
- Prepare, budget, and implement forward-thinking maintenance plans and pre-planned schedules.
- Support business development activities for the Contract and ensure the attainment and retention of ISO quality, environmental, and health and safety management certification.
- Ensure all company and statutory requirements for a safe environment and working practices are met.
- Develop and maintain good communication and relationships at all levels with the client and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complex relationships between various government departments.
- Capability for strategic systems development.
- Customer-focused with knowledge, experience, and understanding of customer services environment.
- Previous operational and capital budgetary preparation and control experience.
- Integrity – acts on values and beliefs in line with Federal, Provincial, and local regulations.
- Logical, intuitive, systematic problem solver with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Hands-on and in-depth knowledge and understanding of complex building maintenance systems.
- Ability to align team to meet business requirements ensuring targets and deadlines are consistently met.
