Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Land Use Planner to join our team in a regional office. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of land use planning projects and will report to the Planning Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the regional office's land use planning workload, ensuring timely and effective project delivery.
  • Work on development projects in northern and central Ontario, collaborating with clients and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Lead development proponents through the Planning Act process, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Prepare various Planning Act applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct strategic planning policy projects, analyzing data and developing recommendations for clients.
  • Build and maintain client relations, fostering strong partnerships and delivering exceptional service.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in land use planning, with a strong understanding of Planning Act, Official Plans, and Zoning By-Laws.
  • Membership with Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI), demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
