CAMH is a leading healthcare organization committed to providing high-quality care to its employees. We are seeking a skilled Disability Case Specialist to join our Health, Safety & Wellness department on a full-time, 18-month contract basis.
Job Summary:The Disability Case Specialist will support the CAMH objective of providing high-quality care to employees experiencing non-occupational related illnesses or injuries. This role will manage all aspects of the claim administration process, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, such as AODA, Employment Equity Act, Human Rights, and Privacy legislation.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of the claim administration process, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive, timely return to work outcomes.
- Respond to case issues objectively and tactfully, maintaining external linkages to best practices in disability case management.
- Partner with the employee, manager, Human Resources partners, union, insurance provider, and Physician consultant to develop return-to-work plans that support employee recovery while maintaining CAMH operations and workflow.
- Prepare metrics and absence reports, identifying trends for internal stakeholders on leaves and absences.
- Liaise and work collaboratively with department leadership to ensure consistency of processes throughout the organization.
- Three to five years of progressive experience in all aspects of absence disability claims management and return to work principles in a unionized environment.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policy interpretation, Human Rights legislation.
- Preferably possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Kinesiology, or one of the allied health/rehabilitation sciences.
- Certification as a Disability Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Return to Work Coordinator (CRTW) is an asset.
