Job Summary
The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing industrial electrical equipment and associated controls. This includes equipment or components directly or indirectly exposed to electrical power such as motors, generators, pumps, and lighting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical System Testing: Conduct thorough testing of electrical systems to ensure efficiency and identify potential issues.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Adhere to regularly scheduled maintenance of electrical devices to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Safe Working Environment: Ensure a safe working environment by identifying and mitigating electrical hazards.
- Circuit Board Cleaning: Clean contacts and circuit boards to prevent electrical malfunctions.
- Wiring Upgrades: Upgrade dated wiring and devices to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Electronics Support: Assist with other tasks related to electronics, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Electrical Issue Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot electrical issues with machinery, systems, fixtures, and more.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as required to support the maintenance team.
Requirements
- Licensed Electrician: Must be a licensed electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
- Industrial Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, with a focus on electrical maintenance and repair.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and problem-solve malfunctions in electrical systems.
- Work Planning: Experience with work planning and continuous improvement, with a focus on optimizing electrical system performance.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and minimum supervision.
- Mathematics Skills: Strong mathematics skills, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Risk Management: A good sense of risk management, with the ability to identify and mitigate electrical hazards.
