Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering educational programs and activities to French Immersion students, adhering to the BC Curriculum. This includes establishing learning standards, identifying educational needs, and providing interventions and supports to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver French Immersion courses, incorporating a multi-media instructional approach
  • Teach students using a systematic plan of lessons, discussions, and experiences in and out of the classroom
  • Lead students in activities to promote social and emotional learning
  • Assess students according to NLPS assessment and reporting guidelines
  • Communicate student learning in a timely and responsive manner
  • Identify diverse needs within the classroom and provide differentiated instruction
  • Support the implementation of school plans and goals
  • Participate in inquiry-based learning and support the implementation of district-wide assessments

Requirements:

  • Professional Certification through the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or equivalent
  • Academic level fluency in oral and written French
  • Qualification in specific subject area(s) for the secondary level
  • Successful classroom teacher experience and/or pre-service experience in a K-12 school setting
  • Demonstrated understanding and incorporation of Indigenous teachings and learnings into lessons and activities
