Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our suppliers and their products, as well as developing and implementing quality assurance methodologies to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:- Supplier Qualification and Assessment: Drive the supplier qualification/re-qualification process, conduct risk assessments, and plan and conduct supplier assessments to ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supplier Product Qualification and Surveillance: Schedule, monitor, and approve supplier part, material, and project subcontractor service activities, and perform required product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.
- Issue Resolution and Claims: Lead and fast execute supply issues, prepare claims cases for responsible buyers, and ensure effective closure of assessment non-conformances.
- Supplier Development: Identify needed improvements of supplier base capabilities and performance, establish development plans, and carry out development activities to ensure conformance with Customer and Hitachi Energy requirements.
- Supplier Performance Evaluation and Monitoring: Develop and support targeted suppliers to achieve ongoing conformity with Customer and Hitachi Energy requirements, monitor and report supplier performance, and initiate and lead Supplier Performance Evaluations.
- Process and System Development and Utilization: Define and develop local quality procedures and practices, ensure full and appropriate utilization of SAP Ariba, and ensure full utilization of local systems for reporting, monitoring, and disposition of quality and on-time delivery.
- Quality Projects: Complete special quality/quality management projects as required.
- Interface with Other Functions: Represent the "Voice of Supplier" to Hitachi Energy and the "Voice of Customer" to suppliers, and collaborate with category teams, responsible buyers, Quality & Operations, Sustainability/HSE, R&D/Engineering, and project tender teams.
