Financial Reporting Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Manager to join our team at Standard Aero, Inc. as a key member of our External Reporting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and audit of external quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, as well as the annual preparation of financial statements for locations outside of North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Statement Preparation: Coordinate, consolidate, analyze, and reconcile financial information from multiple general ledgers for use in the preparation of external financial statements and other regulatory disclosures.
  2. Consolidated Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of consolidated quarterly and annual Financial Statements and Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A).
  3. Statutory Financial Statements: Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and reporting of foreign legal entities.
  4. Financial Analysis: Review and analyze financial information for compliance with corporate policies and internal controls.
  5. Financial Statement Variance Analysis: Perform financial statement variance analysis on a consolidated basis.
  6. Accounting Research: Stay current on emerging US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) regulations, assess, and participate in adoption and implementation.
  7. Technical Accounting: Research and assist in the preparation of technical accounting memos on various accounting issues for use by internal business units.
  8. External and Internal Audits: Coordinate activities with external and internal auditors to ensure timely and accurate financial statement audits.

Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in commerce, business administration, or related field; or equivalent.
  • Accounting Designation: Recognized accounting designation (Certified Public Accountant (CPA)) or expected immediate completion of designation.
  • Experience: 3+ years in a financial accounting role.
  • Skills: Excellent time management and attention to deadlines, strong organizational, analytical, decision-making, oral, and written communication skills.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Accounting Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and the ability to research (knowledge of US GAAP is an asset).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of Excel and Word; Oracle system experience is an asset.
