Key Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight and guidance to staff to ensure they meet the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents.
  • Direct and supervise staff, including scheduling, performance appraisals, and mentoring.
  • Participate in recruitment and orientation of new staff.
  • Monitor and coordinate the development and implementation of annual and quarterly reviews for residents.
  • Be available to support the team with emergency situations outside of regular working hours.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call system over weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Assist in maintaining building and equipment standards.
  • Report hazards and critical incidents to the Program Manager in a timely manner.
  • Ensure staff adhere to Catholic Social Services policies and procedures.
  • Manage the home's budget and ensure expenses are paid in a timely manner.
  • Represent the home and Service on Agency committees and as a trainer as assigned.
Requirements
  • A degree or diploma in Human Services or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Must complete a Medication Administration Course.
  • Supervisory experience is considered an asset.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver creative solutions.
  • Strong delegation, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility and openness to changes.
  • Experience supervising teams.
  • Strong computer skills and abilities.
  • Able to provide a Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check.
