Your Role:
- Review design documents and shop drawings for compliance with best practices in building science.
- Conduct field assessments of new constructions and renovations to ensure adherence to approved designs.
- Prepare detailed site visit reports and maintain a database to track deficiencies and their resolutions.
- Perform field testing on building envelope components to verify compliance with performance standards.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective project execution.
- Assist in the development of building envelope designs and construction documentation.
- Conduct forensic analysis of building envelope failures.
- Deliver presentations to diverse audiences, including legal professionals and consultants.
- Support fieldwork related to the assessment of existing structures and the preparation of comprehensive reports.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in evaluating and constructing building envelope systems.
- In-depth knowledge of advanced flashing, waterproofing, roofing, cladding, and related systems.
- A degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field with a focus on Building Science.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Bluebeam, CAD, Revit, Sketchup, and BIM 360 is advantageous.
- Strong project management skills for handling multiple concurrent projects.
- Practical understanding of energy codes, rain screen principles, and thermal performance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with a strong commitment to customer service.
- Willingness to travel as required.
