Job Title: Building Science Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Science Engineer to join our team at JRS Engineering in Burnaby, BC.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an EIT to work on a variety of projects, including building envelope condition assessments, leak investigations, and warranty reviews. As a Building Science Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting investigations, producing reports, and undertaking design work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare written reports on building envelope condition assessments, leak investigations, and warranty reviews.
  • Assist with developing building envelope design solutions, including drafting design and construction documents.
  • Apply knowledge of City and Municipal Building Codes.
  • Assist with third-party reviews of building envelope designs for new construction and major retrofit projects.
  • Conduct field reviews, investigations, contract administration, and quality assurance during all stages of consulting and new construction projects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science/Engineering and EIT designation with EGBC.
  • ~1 to 4 years of work experience in building science or construction.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work at heights, including climbing ladders and working on swing stages and scaffolding.
