Position Overview: Enhancement Crew Leader

Role Summary:

The Enhancement Crew Leader plays a crucial role in managing and implementing landscape designs and plans. This position ensures that the executed designs align with functional, safety, and budgetary requirements. The Crew Leader is responsible for maintaining company equipment and supervising the daily operations of the Enhancement Crew. Compliance with all relevant legislation, including Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, as well as adherence to CSL Group Ltd. policies, is essential. This role also involves effective communication with the Branch Manager regarding team performance and operational updates.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily operations of the crew.
  • Operate heavy machinery including mini excavators, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
  • Manage scheduling for crew members and equipment efficiently.
  • Procure and organize materials and equipment for projects cost-effectively.
  • Ensure project completion within budget constraints.
  • Guide and assist Enhancement Labourers in executing tasks according to specifications.
  • Conduct effective short-term planning and keep the Branch Manager informed of key decisions.
  • Lead by example in adhering to CSL Group Ltd. policies and procedures.
  • Complete necessary documentation related to safety and operational reports.
  • Identify safety issues and determine optimal methods for task completion.
  • Report any vehicle or equipment defects and unusual situations to the Branch Manager.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Perform regular maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure the safety and aesthetic quality of landscape designs.
  • Address and resolve any arising issues effectively.
  • Follow all relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Utilize various hand and power tools as required.
  • Supervise the implementation of landscape and garden projects.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks and manage work orders efficiently.
  • Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available for the crew.
  • Assist in training and orienting new staff members.
  • Drive company vehicles as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in landscaping or property maintenance.
  • Proficient in operating heavy equipment such as mini excavators, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and project management abilities.
  • Ability to understand and apply company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and tact in dealing with others.

Work Environment:

  • Availability for 24/7 operations may be necessary.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Travel to various job sites may be required.
  • Personal protective equipment, such as steel-toed boots and safety glasses, is mandatory.
  • Overtime may be necessary based on project demands.
  • Work is conducted outdoors throughout the year.
  • This is a full-time role with responsibilities extending into winter duties.
