Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optical Lab Manager to join our team at Hoya Vision Care Canada. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our lab, including managing staff, maintaining quality standards, and analyzing production data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Customer Service team to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Manage staffing levels and adjust schedules to meet changing production demands, ensuring sufficient manpower to support production needs.
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure production efficiency, safety, and compliance with company guidelines.
  • Analyze and resolve work-related problems, and assist employees in solving work-related issues.
  • Review and analyze internal systems, audit reports, and KPI data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage staff concerns and issues promptly and fairly, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in production, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role in a production and/or optical environment.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of optical principles and lab processes, equipment, and maintenance.
