Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Lee's Overseas Delights. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring the efficient preparation and presentation of food, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:- Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, ensuring they are sanitized and ready for use.
- Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Keep accurate records of food quantities used, ensuring inventory levels are maintained.
- Package take-out food and prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer demands.
- Stock refrigerators and salad bars, ensuring a well-stocked and organized kitchen environment.
- Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs, following established procedures.
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Handle and store cleaning products, adhering to safety protocols.
- Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas, ensuring efficient inventory management.
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Sharpen kitchen knives, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, preparing them for use in food preparation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to follow established procedures and protocols, ensuring a safe and healthy kitchen environment.
