About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our team at Brown Boys Enterprises Ltd. As a Drywall Taper, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply coats of compound: Use a trowel and broad knife to fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound.
  • Sand and smooth: Sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces: Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering.
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces: Allow freshly plastered surfaces to cure.
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh: Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
  • Finish corners and angles: Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Mix plaster ingredients: Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency.
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels: Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim.
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials: Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings.
  • Tape over joints: Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work setting: Commercial, Industrial, and Residential.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
  • Language: English.
  • Work hours: 40 hours per week.
