BIM/Digital Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM/Digital Coordinator to join our team at Ontario Transit Group. As a key member of our BIM Team, you will play a crucial role in managing BIM implementation during the design phase and supporting the Construction Technical Office during the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Aggregate and manage Design partners' and Trade subcontractors' BIM models, ensuring up-to-date BIM Federated Models for tunnels.
  • Review 3D models created by designers, subcontractors, or other teams for quality and accuracy.
  • Run visual and automated clash detection of aggregated BIM models to ensure spatial coordination.
  • Communicate conflicts in model, producing 3D BIM coordination reports, issues creation, and BCF management.
  • Develop and maintain BIM object libraries and design scripts libraries, adhering to Project BIM/CAD standards.
  • Develop and maintain Project BIM models during the construction phase, as required, adhering to Project BIM/CAD standards.
  • Provide BIM support to project Engineering and Construction teams for construction scheduling, performing quantity take-offs, and providing trade/s quantity schedule outputs.
  • Oversee laser scanning of existing spaces, incorporating data into Federation Models for project team review.
  • Incorporate field data into BIM models, adhering to project standards and BIM uses, generating As-Built models using survey information.
  • Provide BIM Navigation User training.
  • Develop/Export CAD drawings, adhering to Project BIM/CAD standards.
  • Assist in the development of Cadets and Graduate Engineers.
  • Participate in on-the-job development/training.
  • Support, implement, and adhere to H&S policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
  • BIM Coordination and monitoring of BIM deliverables production.
  • BIM and Information Management methodology compliance.
  • Compliance with Client and JV Construction requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Autodesk Revit (Stations) and Civil 3D (civil works). Autodesk Navisworks knowledge is mandatory.
  • Experience with software applications such as Synchro, Fuzor, and Dynamo is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience, with at least 2 years on projects using BIM.
