We are seeking a skilled Plumber Journeyman/Woman to join our team at Star Mechanical Edm Ltd. in Edmonton, Alberta.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances. This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings
- Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
- Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size
- Measure and lay out reference points for installation
- Handle, recover, and store refrigerants
- Coach and instruct apprentices
- Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components
- Provide customer service
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
- Start up systems and test for leaks using testing devices
- Perform maintenance, such as recharging systems with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators, or calibrating systems
- Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Level one, two, three, four, or five apprenticeship training
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle
- Steel-toed safety boots and tools
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift heavy loads and work at heights
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
