Job Overview

Role Summary As a key player in a dynamic fashion retail environment, the Retail Visual Specialist is responsible for crafting an engaging atmosphere that encourages customers to discover their unique style. This position will collaborate with the store team to provide an exceptional Customer Experience that aligns with the H&M brand ethos. You will actively contribute to driving sales within the store while ensuring the Visual Identity is effectively implemented. The Retail Visual Specialist is expected to consistently meet the expectations of both customers and colleagues, adhering to all established procedures and standards.

This role reports to the Store Visual Manager or the Store Manager, depending on store volume.

Daily Responsibilities*

Sales and Profitability

The Retail Visual Specialist will organize the display of garments on the Sales Floor and in Windows in accordance with the Commercial Handbook. In partnership with the Department Manager, you will identify additional commercial opportunities within the store while adhering to H&M brand guidelines. This role will execute floor changes based on collaborative decisions.

Fashion Acumen

Stay informed about current fashion trends Inspire and educate the store team on seasonal trends, upcoming campaigns, and brand standards

Direct Customer Engagement

Ensure customer service meets expectations according to H&M standards. Assist the store in delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Indirect Customer Engagement

Uphold the H&M Visual Identity by implementing the Commercial Handbook and ensuring well-styled mannequins in windows and throughout the store. Create a cohesive narrative from windows to the A-area with stylish buying suggestions. Guarantee high-quality garment presentation daily in collaboration with the store team. Maintain effective customer flow through strategic fixture placement and navigation in line with H&M standards. Launch and manage all sales campaigns and activities punctually and according to H&M standards.

Commercial Processes

Collaborate with the Department Manager to review Store KPIs and initiate actions to achieve store goals and budgets. Adjust store planning based on needs and budget from the Commercial plan. Complete and act on the Best Brand segment of the Customer Experience Tool to maximize commercial opportunities.

Visual Store Operations

Execute sample picking and floor moves to create clear narratives and stylish buying suggestions. Complete all sales floor and window morning routines daily before store opening. Ensure the quantity and condition of all incoming visual props and marketing materials with a focus on sustainability. Maintain an organized and safe visual room. Keep all visual materials current and share updates with the team regarding seasonal changes. Paint and maintain windows as needed.

Team Collaboration

The Retail Visual Specialist will support the store team in enhancing both customer and employee experiences through coaching and development. Alongside the Store Management team, the Retail Visual Specialist will ensure compliance with all legal requirements and H&M policies.

Training and Development

Assess and enhance the visual and commercial skills of the store team through regular visual training for all staff to support garment presentation in line with the Commercial Handbook. Maintain oversight, provide feedback, and collaborate on executing floor moves with the store team. Identify potential future Retail Visual Specialist talent for succession planning.

Communication and Compliance

Ensure all communication in windows and on the sales floor adheres to local legislation.

Safety and Security

Operate in accordance with H&M standards and local legislation regarding health, safety, and security to ensure the safety of yourself, colleagues, and customers at all times. Follow all procedures and routines related to safety, security, and administrative processes across all store areas.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate

Inclusive, positive, creative, and eager to learn on the job. Passionate about customer service and assisting individuals in finding their style. A multi-tasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment with a keen eye for detail. 1-2+ years of relevant experience preferred. Capable of lifting over 20 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stretch, and engage in repetitive motions, push, pull, and carry items (mannequins, clothing, totes, torsos, etc.) over short distances. Ability to climb ladders and use step stools. Proficient in using hand and power tools (Iron, Steamer, etc.) necessary for display setups. Flexible work schedule availability, including nights and weekends. May require travel to support other locations.
