Senior Communications Specialist

Medavie Blue Cross is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Senior Communications Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Talent & Communications department, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing external communications strategies to support business objectives across Medavie, Medavie Blue Cross, and Medavie Health Services.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide strategic counsel to business partners on external communication strategies and tactics that align with business objectives.
- Develop and implement external communications materials, including key messages, news releases, speaking remarks, presentations, and op-eds.
- Act as the primary media point of contact for Medavie Blue Cross in Quebec, working closely with business partners to respond to media inquiries and interviews.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, identifying emerging opportunities and challenges that require proactive communication.
- Monitor regional and national news media to stay informed about issues impacting our organization and reputation.
- Support the marketing team in their communications efforts and provide communications support for special projects and initiatives.
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications, with a focus on external communications and media relations.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is required to meet the needs of our English-speaking clientele.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into engaging and informative pieces.
- A demonstrated ability to advise senior leaders and create approaches that address business demands and needs.
- Strong interpersonal, project management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and across locations.
