Job Summary

As a Behaviour Consultant, you will be responsible for conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments and creating Multi-element Behaviour Support Plans for individuals with disabilities. You will apply Person-Centred Planning and Positive Behaviour Support Principles to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough Functional Behaviour Assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviours
  • Develop and implement Multi-element Behaviour Support Plans that are tailored to the individual's needs and goals
  • Train teams to implement Behaviour Support Plans with fidelity, using Behavioural Skills Training
  • Deliver professional report presentations to stakeholders
  • Develop, train, and monitor Safety Plans as needed
  • Provide hands-on modelling of techniques and strategies to support Behaviour Support Plans
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, both paper and electronic
  • Think creatively and resourcefully to resolve crisis situations
  • Model Person-Centred Practice and promote a collaborative approach to service delivery
  • Demonstrate initiative and pro-activeness in all aspects of the role
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
  • Lead effective meetings and model positive behaviour

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Special Education, or a related field
  • BCBA certification preferred
  • Experience as a consultant in a related field, with a focus on Behaviour Support
  • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
  • Mandt System or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
  • Driver's license and safe, reliable vehicle
  • Private home office
  • Clearance letter for children and vulnerable populations
  • Two professional references and one academic reference
