We are seeking a skilled Youth and Family Counsellor to join our team at BC Children's Hospital Mental Health. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will work collaboratively to provide high-quality care to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' emotional and behavioural presentation, and communicate this assessment to the primary nurse and interprofessional team.
- Support children and youth in lifespan development activities, and provide supportive counselling and psychosocial development.
- Participate in patient care plan development, treatment strategies, and intervention development with the assigned primary nurse and interprofessional team.
- Establish and maintain a therapeutic milieu, and assess and identify the need for intervention in crisis situations.
- Enhance the child and family's capacity for social skill development and community integration.
- Bachelor's degree in Child and Youth Care, or a related field.
- Two years' recent experience working in a child and youth setting.
- Valid Class 4 driver's license.
- Current CPR certification.
- A dynamic and supportive work environment.
