Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Administrator to join our team at Island Health. The successful candidate will possess a Diploma in Financial Management and three years of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effective financial and budget management, including the ability to perform mathematical and financial calculations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues and conflicts diplomatically.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and stakeholders.
  • Planning, organizing, and prioritizing work.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and sound judgment.
  • Initiative and ability to take ownership of tasks.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant acts, regulations, programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding of policy and controls around the release of client information.
  • Ability to operate related equipment and software applications at an intermediate level.
  • Business writing skills and ability to type.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial management principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and possess a high level of initiative and problem-solving skills.
