Fire Alarm Technician Job Description

At Fire Safety and Protection, LLC, we are committed to protecting communities by installing, inspecting, and repairing fire alarm, sprinkler, and safety systems. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our clients' assets.

Responsibilities:
  • Test, inspect, verify, and service fire alarm systems and devices.
  • Program and configure fire alarm systems.
  • Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
  • Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.
Requirements:
  • CFAA License
  • Prior experience with fire alarm systems, monitoring systems, emergency lighting systems, and security systems preferred.
  • Siemens and/or Mircom ESD experience preferred.
  • Programming experience preferred.
  • Ability and desire to learn all facets of the Fire Alarm Technician role in fire alarm and security.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Customer-oriented mentality.
  • Ability to work within the territory and surrounding areas.
Physical Requirements:

Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, standing for prolonged periods, lifting 35 lbs, and other requirements common to a Fire Alarm Technician.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements. Overnight travel may be required. Differentiate color coding of cables.
