Job Description

Job Title: Casual Support Staff

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Casual Support Staff to join our team at Grande Yellowhead Public School Division No. 77. As a Casual Support Staff, you will provide support to students and staff in a variety of settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and other school areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with personal care needs, such as toileting, dressing, and feeding
  • Support students with behavior management, including de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement
  • Assist teachers and other staff with classroom and school activities, such as preparing materials and supervising students
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for students, staff, and visitors
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the school

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience working with children and/or individuals with special needs an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
