About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and reliable Houseperson to join our Staff Services Team at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. As a Houseperson, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and residents by maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our colleague accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently provide professional, engaging, and friendly service to our guests and colleagues.
  • Clean and maintain staff cabins, including washrooms and hallways.
  • Clean and maintain apartments in Sir Henry Thornton Village.
  • Clean and maintain all staff areas, including outside grounds, R&R room, training room, and laundry rooms.
  • Stock and label supply closets.
  • Operate vacuums and carpet shampooing equipment.
  • Assist in all duties of the linen room.
  • Ensure all vacant rooms are clean and properly set up.
  • Move furniture.
  • Report all maintenance problems.
  • Perform light maintenance duties, including cleaning sink taps and unplugging toilets.
  • Execute the mail run on occasion.
  • Adhere to the hotel's vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Housekeeping or janitorial experience is an asset.
  • Must hold a current driver's license.
  • Must be trustworthy, reliable, responsible, and dependable.
  • Must be very flexible and able to work all shifts.
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Must have good verbal communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must be well-organized and good at prioritizing and time management.

About the Team and Working Environment:

  • Standing: 4-6 hours/day.
  • Walking: 4-6 hours/day.
  • Bending/reaching: 3 hours/day.
  • Pushing/pulling: 1-2 hours/day.
  • Physical effort: does not lift weights over 100 lbs, some repetitive motion.
  • Visual effort: medium, detail-oriented.
  • Environmental stress: high - works in hot/cold conditions, constant inside/outside conditions, some slippery or congested conditions, working alone and in group situations.
  • Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel.
  • Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resorts in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
