Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at NOV Inc. as a Precision Manufacturing Specialist. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our state-of-the-art CNC machines, ensuring the highest level of precision and quality in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and measurement tools to determine work procedures and ensure accurate machining.
  • Perform precise measuring and inspection to guarantee components meet specific tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to optimize material usage and equipment efficiency.
  • Operate and handle materials and tools in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Report any environmental and health & safety issues that arise, and participate in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist in the training and development of other team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in setup and operation of CNC Lathes and/or Mills.
  • Proficiency in operating Okuma, DMG Mori, Mazak, and Weingartner machines.
  • Experience with mill-turns, live tooling, 3-axis lathes, and 5-axis mills.
  • Knowledge of G-Code, Siemens, Heidenhain, and OS300 controls.
  • A combination of formal higher trade/educational training and/or several years of progressive and practical CNC machining experience.
  • Ability to carry out own setups, perform first-off inspections, and make program changes/modifications to optimize processes and achieve product quality requirements.
  • Experience with operating two machines simultaneously in a lean manufacturing cell arrangement.
  • Excellent mathematical and numerical comprehension, coupled with good abilities to use an extensive range of inspection/measurement equipment.
  • Experience machining small batches of a wide variety of larger precision components within tight tolerances from engineered performance metals; steels, stainless, titanium, etc.

Working Conditions:

  • Able to work in a shop environment with noise, fumes, and standing.
  • Lifting unassisted up to 35 pounds.
  • Position is deemed safety-sensitive and will require passing a pre-employment physical and Drug & Alcohol test.
