We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our Women's and Children's Health team at Sault Area Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver patient-centered care.
- Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide education and support to patients and families.
- Comply with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain professional development and growth.
- Develop effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Stay current with best practices through research and literature.
- Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities.
- Engage in research opportunities.
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
- Current Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation required or enrolled in program.
- Current certification in venipuncture (I.V. therapy).
- Recent post-partum experience within the last 5 years.
- Recent medical or pediatric experience within the last 5 years.
- Demonstrated knowledge in post-operative patient care.
- Post-Partum experience in: Breastfeeding, Maternal Child Care, Newborn Care, Gestational Age Assessments.
- Meet physical demands of the job, including extended standing, walking, lifting, and climbing.
- Develop human relations skills, including empathy, sensitivity, and understanding of human behavior.
- Competence in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Knowledge of patient care requirements and specialized equipment.
- Working knowledge of the College of Nurses of Ontario standards of practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literacy in a Microsoft environment.
- Ability to maintain successful working relationships with the interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to organize time effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Behaviour consistent with Hospital Mission, Values, and Standards of Performance.
