About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 Shunt Driver to join our team at Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC. As a Shunt Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate daily movement logs and perform regular PM inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Ensure all yard equipment is clean, orderly, and in safe operating condition, and report any damages to the supervisor.
  • Properly secure all loads and maintain safety rules at all times.
  • Assist in monitoring FIFO (First in, First out) equipment in the yard and report discrepancies to the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist 3rd party carriers in re-positioning equipment as necessary.
  • Perform job-related duties as specified by management.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 License and previous shunt experience is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a yard truck operator evaluation.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; not required.
  • Minimum one year driving experience and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform well under time-sensitive tasks, multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
