Sanctuary Cognitive Systems Corp., a pioneer in developing AI-driven control mechanisms for humanoid robotics, is on the lookout for a Control Systems Validation Engineer to join our Machine Learning Division. Reporting directly to the Head of Machine Learning, you will play a crucial role in the internal testing, validation, and acceptance processes that are essential to our goal of achieving human-like intelligence in versatile robots.

In this position, the Control Systems Validation Engineer will take on the important task of aiding in the construction, enhancement, and acceleration of a system designed to fulfill Sanctuary's mission. You will acquire an in-depth understanding of our current systems and component testing methodologies, iterating on them to enhance our performance in software validation, integration, and the realization of our robotic hardware platform.

The ideal candidate for the Control Systems Validation Engineer role has a background in designing and executing test programs for complex, networked technological systems. This encompasses systems that integrate hardware, software, and AI/ML technologies, akin to those utilized in autonomous vehicles, drones, mobile robotics, or advanced aerospace systems.

As a Control Systems Validation Engineer, you will oversee test execution and validation in accordance with our workflow testing protocols for all components within the robotic system, establishing procedures and automation to optimize scalable testing efficiency. Demonstrated experience in a Systems Engineering field will enable you to excel in this role.

Your Qualifications
  • A degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Computer, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical, etc.) or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience with software-driven hardware systems.
  • Experience in developing and executing test scenarios and supporting data collection.
  • Proven capability to write scripts and automate processes for repeatable testing.
  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment, including research scientists, hardware, electrical, and software engineers.
  • Experience with big data, noisy data, and nondeterministic/stochastic systems, including an understanding of data quality.
Required Skills
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols such as DNS, TCP/IP, SSL, etc.
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn.
  • Exposure to testing frameworks and libraries such as Selenium, Serenity, Robot, or similar.
  • Familiarity with electromechanical systems, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and/or industrial automation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and process documentation skills.
