Unit Overview

The Juravinski Hospital serves as a premier academic institution offering specialized secondary and tertiary acute care services. It is at the forefront of the Regional Cancer Program and Orthopedic Surgery Program, providing comprehensive assessment services for patients across various regions. The facility also extends general medical and surgical services to the local community, supported by advanced units such as the Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, and a fully operational Emergency Department.

Position Overview The Clinical Leader of Oncology plays a pivotal role in assisting the Manager with the execution of strategic initiatives and the seamless coordination of daily operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, education, and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support human resources management and financial oversight of Hematology Ward C4.
  • Facilitate the implementation of corporate and program strategies.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promote effective communication and teamwork within the department.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday; daytime hours.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree in a relevant health discipline is preferred, or a combination of relevant academic background and experience.
  • Recent clinical practice experience (5-7 years) in a related field.
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
  • Exceptional communication and team-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to foster positive change.
  • Commitment to ongoing education through pursuit of further studies or equivalent educational endeavors.
  • Membership in the relevant Professional College/Association is required.
  • Prior experience and familiarity with the service area is preferred.

As a condition of employment, proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.
