Job Title: Environmental, Chemical & Safety Technician/Technologist

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental, Chemical & Safety Technician/Technologist to join our team in Atikokan, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in environmental, health, and safety issues related to OPG facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise in environmental, health, and safety issues related to OPG facilities.
  • Assist in the implementation of corporate and local programs and projects related to environment, health, and safety.
  • Conduct environmental field sampling and monitoring to support programs such as waste management, TDG, HAZMAT, and contaminated lands.
  • Develop and maintain reports and records related to environmental, health, and safety activities.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2-years post-secondary study in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience as a Environmental, Chemical & Safety Technician/Technologist or similar role.
  • Prior experience in industrial or hydro-electric workplaces preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills required to work with both internal and external stakeholders and Government agencies.
